Its not just black people

I'm white, my big sister is called Beth, and I apparently pronounce it Bef, I cant pronounce th properly

Its like I cant say Thursday, I say Fursday

Its not my fault! Some people say I have a lisp, but I don't!

English is a worldwide language with many dialects and many accents. There are lots of difference in pronunciation among different ethnic groups who speak English. English-speaking people in, say, Ireland or Guyana probably think YOU talk funny.

Why do YOU talk like you do? Is there something wrong with you?

Also, your generalization about "black people's" pronunciation is not true of everybody; not all black people pronounce "th" that way; and not all people who pronounce it as "f" are black.

From my experience it is a cultural phenomenon of intentionally speaking incorrectly and mispronouncing words. I have held performance reviews with many employees who I know speak in that style of slang constantly. However during the review they speak properly. So, I know it is simply cultural and the mispronunciation is intentional.

EDIT: The dialect I am referring to is commonly used by African Americans from the southern United States. I can't speak for dialects of other regions.

There are black people who are articulate. Some people do not have good grammar. You should take a basic English class.
