Question:
Could someone please help me to come up with a great ending?

my imagination has gone blank on this one. Basically, what im asking from you guys is that you come up with a great ending to this story. So here is the basic plot:
tommy has a lot of pets, although he doesn't really count his stick insects as pets (he sells them at school because he doesn't find them interesting). his favourite real pet is the gecko. the problem is one night all his creatures grow to a ginormous size and the stick insects try and feed poor tommy to the gecko...
the problem is how do i end this story! PLEASE DO NOT SAY HE DIES, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS IN THE ORIGINAL STORY I HAVE TO ALTER THE ENDING. we are not told how they grow to a massive size either. i am looking for an imaginative ending not something even a 5 year old could come up with like some sort of superman figure flies to his rescue. could i also mention tommy likes his dads praying mantises, but he is not allowed to go near them so they could be part of the ending.
in advance could i please say a thank you.

Tommy suddenly realised that he slept whit his Goth boots on. He managed to take one off and hit all the stick insects on the head so they fell to the floor. Before they could get back up Tommy opened his wardrobe door got his dummy Tommy out (For emergencies). He then put the dummy Tommy in the sick insects arms. Tommy ran to his parents room where the praying mantises where. He knocked on their glass and asked them for a favour "Hello Mr mantises, could you help me make all my pets small especially the sick insects and gecko?" he asked with a stutter.

"Ahhh of course dear Tommy." The said. They hopped out of their tank and went into Tommy's room.

"Argh!!" the stick insect said and then shrank and fell to the floor.

"How did you do that Mr mantises?" Tommy shrieked in delight.

"It's all in the mind, son. Try it" The mantises said. Tommy squinted his eyes and thought about shrinking the animals and insects. "ITS WORKING!" Tommy cried.

"Yes, now keep on doing that." Said the mantises. It took two hours to shrink all the animals. But they did it.

"Thank you Mr Mantises, how can I repay you for what you have done?" Tommy asked thankfully.

"Well you could carry us back to our tank and give us plenty of treats" They both said without emotion.

"Of course" Tommy said as he carried the mantises back to their tank.

Tommy was very tired so he hopped back into his bed and slept. The end.

Couldn't you have Tommy waking up and it had all been a dream, Corny for Dallas but it could work for your story.
