Go to any grocery store and tell them that you are moving and if they have any empty boxes that you would like to have them.

If you haven't already tried local grocery stores, you might consider joining freecycle.org. There are chapters all over the country, usually in the form of yahoo groups. You can post something like "WANTED: moving boxes" and sometime with some on hand can contact you and you can arrange to pick them up. When you're done you can post "OFFER: moving boxes" and someone should contact you to pick them up. You can get rid of almost anything this way... also great if you're a cheapskate. I used it to get a hard-to-find calendar, someone had one they weren't using and gave it to me. I've also gotten rid of tons of used bubble envelopes, used school supplies, ipod chargers, kids craft items, you name it. Only restriction is that everything has to be free.

most grocery stores have plenty of milk boxes (the best ones for moving). just hit them around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. that's about when the shelves have been stocked but they haven't crushed the boxes yet.

We got ours from liquor stores; they're really sturdy and the dividers for the bottles can come in handy. I felt kind of crazy hauling around boxes that had alcohol brands on them, but whatever, they did their job.

No where really. Mabe if there is an Atlas Van Lines around you, they will help. Aseptically if you tell them you know Robert Jared.

any store

ask the employees

Stores are more than happy to rid themselves of empty and now useless boxes

Try the grocery stores.......depending on where you live though they may not give them out. Every place seems to be recycling them anymore.
