My parents came to the US from Germany after the end of the war, so all we had really was classical... but with my little earpiece and a small transistor radio I listened in my room to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath... the first LP (that's a 12" record by the way) I ever bought was George Carlin's "AM and FM" because I mistakenly thought it contained music played on AM and FM radio (RIP George), with 'Seven Words You Can't Say on TV', funniest think I ever heard

All that you named and then some hon. Mom had decided to get a Time Life membership to their music club and she had cassettes from 1953 - about 1974. Anything and everything. I am well-versed in musical knowlege cuz of that. Oh, and dad liked Gene Autry. That is almost so sad. LOL

My Dad was always playing Deep Purple and Frank Zappa. My Mum didn't put music on that often but if she did it was Jazz or Latin music. My Grandpa had a Latin American and so we would go and see him play quite alot.

my parents were always listening to the 50's and 60's, so they likes of jerry lewis and fats domino were always playing.

plus my sister is a mad cliff richard fan so I had warbling all hours.

I would just go to my room and out on my david essex album and spend my time looking at pictures of him in my scrap book.
