Second cousin.

you can use this...HANDY DANDY CHART (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:CousinTree.svg) if you need any more genealogy clarifications =P

(though honestly, after a while i find this stuff way too confusing...my relatives all all either aunt/uncle or cousins no matter how removed lol)

ok - I just did the research =D

A second cousin is the child of your cousin.

From there, a third cousin would be the child of the child of your cousin.

So for example, you're cousins name is James. He has a son named Todd (Todd is then your second cousin) Todd has a daughter named Lucy (Lucy is then your third cousin), Lucy has a daughter named Lily (Lily is your fourth cousin), and on and on the generation line. =D

And according to the very confusing wikipedia (well, normally wikipedia isn't confusing, but today it was. lol) your moms cousins son would be your moms "second cousin" and to you, that would be your "second cousin once removed". I think. Family tree stuff bugs my brains. lol!

I think it would just be your cousin.

If it had a title like "____" cousin, it would be your third.

Your mother's cousin being your second cousin, then their offspring being your third cousins.

The only thing that gets me, is I thought that it would be your parent's cousins being your second cousins, and your grandparent's cousins being your third.

Not entirely sure. Lol.

Your mom's cousin is your second cousin. His son is her second cousin. Which makes him your third cousin.

If your mom and her cousin's parents are siblings, then:

Second cousin once removed.

If they are cousins because their parents are cousins: then second cousins twice removed

He is your third cousin, and his mom is your second.

According to this

http://en.wikipedia. org/wiki/Second_cousin

this would be a second cousin - same generational "level" as yourself, related through one of your great-grandparents.

By this reckoning, your second cousin's mother is your second cousin once removed.
