Is this a good report card for and 8th Grader?

I'll say! When I was in the 8th grade, none of my grades were within the first four letters of the alphabet....

I would say this should be an average report card . A good would be all B- and above and a great would be all A- and above. A bad report card would have a D or an F. However one D in one six weeks for the whole school year is considered OK. The majority of students get average report cards or bad report cards so I think Average like this one is good.

That depends on what last quarters report card looked like! What is a good report card for one person is not necessarily a good report card for another. Report cards are relative to the individual and thier capabilities. If the student sincerely worked hard and gave it their all, then it was a great report card. If the student was just doing what he had to in order to get by, it isn't a report card to be proud of.

Having no D's and F's is OK, but to prove that you are a good student, shoot for B- and better in everything... (A's in gym and health don't impress)



As a teacher and a parent, I would want to see higher grades in English and Math...two main subjects areas...



(I was a B+ or better student...I hated getting less than 85 on anything, but I didn't worry about getting straight A's as long as I got A's in my favorites...math and science.)

Listen to me from experience parents know math and science and reading are all really important so if I were you bring the mathe to a B at least English to a B+ or higher that looks good to high school teacher and you want to look good and science to a B+

As a parent I would be disappointed in the English and Math. I"d tell you to bring thtem up by next progress report. But good job.

Seems that the "random" eighth grader should think more about math than gym. But its pretty good, as a mother I would have no complaints.

I'm in 6th grade, and seeing 8th graders progress reports today, that is actually quite impressive. Most 8th graders I talk to got D's or F's.

That's not very good. Math and English shouldn't be so low. You should get higher grades on your academics then your other classes. But thats just my opinion. I'd cry If I got a C in any of my academic classes. No..I'm not a nerd...just focused on my future.

middle school is the easiest thing ever anyone can get straight A's when you get to highschool and college then the report card you made up will start looking wonderful

it kind of depends on what classes you are taking and if you turn in your assignments on time but other than that its ok im in 8th grade and i only have 7 periods.

coming from a father this is absolutely disgraceful. my middle child came home with a report card somewhat similar to this one and after the beating i gave her she never came back with another one...literally. i havent seen her months. after the 2nd week of not seeing her i thought i may have taken it a little too far. i told her that if her grandpa was alive to see a report card like that he would have dropped dead right in front of her, then i took a picture of grandpa off from above the fireplace and said "look, you killed grandpa because of your horrible grades now you sent him to hell!' i then threw the picture of grandpa into the fireplace and told her to get grandpa out of the fireplace with her bare hands or she was going to join him in hell. she wouldnt do it so i grabbed her by her hair and threw her face first into the fireplace. i guess i could have handled it differently but i think i got my point across. i miss her sometimes but i still have my other kids and my dog.
