I'm sick. I'm at work. Can I go home?

I've got a summer cold; a real doozy with so much nasal congestion that my upper molars ache.

How do you feel when a sick co-worker comes to work? How about when you come to work sick and all of your co-workers tell you to go home?

When I was working... I hated it when people would come to work sick... because I usually would end up sick within a week.



Now... I am at home (see my 360 as to why) & I am sick, too! I think it's a cold, too!

If your boss won't let you go home... then try to get a cup of hot tea & honey... if not available... try some Hall's. Still don't have? Then just be sure to drink lots of water... or what ever you can get a hold of there at work... & then when you get home... go straight to bed! Get as much sleep as you can & if you still feel awful tomorrow.... CALL OFF!! & then sleep some more! By Wednesday you should be feeling a bit better to go back to work. (If not... then... CALL THE DOCTOR... it's more than a cold!)

I don't think it's very considerate when people come to work sick. I'm all for them going home. I had a respiratory infection and came to work (because my boss made me) and I ended up getting 2 other people in the office really sick, so instead of just me having to take off work, 3 of us ended up having to take at least a couple of days off to go to the doctor.



If my co-workers told me to go home, I certainly wouldn't be offended. They don't want to get sick, they don't want to get their families sick, and you usually aren't real productive when you are sick.

Bummer -- I tried to go to work today and the road was blocked to the building surrounded by police officers and I was told to turn around that someone called in a bomb threat and no one was allowed in the building because it was evacuated. So I am now at home - bored and trying to pass time on Yahoo Answers. Hope you feel better and are able to go home and recover -- get well soon.

I dont like to be around sick people. Go home and suck on some lozenges. Take a nap and drink lots of fluids. No Im not a Dr. just had alot of colds myself

Go home and don't contaminate the place with your germs. Get some rest, they can't expect you to be at your best when you're sick. I always have to work sick and would love to be able to go home.

If you feel that ill and your are punching a clock, stay as long as you can if you need the money. You can stay home tomorrow if you need to rest if you are still sick. Feel better.

Look into nasal douching and go home! Your boss will be more upset if you get other people sick also.

♥ I usually come to work when I'm sick simply because I dont get paid when I go home sick... however if I'm really sick I stay home that way I dont risk infecting anyone at work.

if you are sick you can not work properly and it is not good for your health and for others aroud you. it might be contagious.

yes, please go home. i read somewhere that it actually cost the employer more when they have sick employees working then if they hadn't gone to work. i thought it was interesting.
