If you had to write about one of the seven deadly sins, what is an interesting idea of it that would you focus on and why?

I’m not sure which topic to choose. This includes lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. I need to pick a good topic stance to talk about that is interesting. I’m thinking about writing either about sloth or wrath. I’m not sure where to start, could you give me a few ideas?
My teacher said that we could talk about how it influences or changes people, its role in education, misconceptions of the sin, comparing two different perspectives of the sin, or analyzing certain behaviors of the sin, and examining it so much to produce new material that has not already been defined. I want to come up with something original, but I’m drawing a blank now and if you could please help me out I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks and have a great day.

I would either focus on Envy or Wrath...

Personally i think there's a chance the two can be linked in a way, sort of like a weird cause and effect thing.

Envy i suppose can be characterized as a powerful desire for something...but then again so can Greed...however the difference would be that in the case of Envy you would not only want what one another has but recent them for having what you believe you lack and thus start to believe that that particular individual should be deprived of it. And that's where i think Wrath comes into play.

Jealousy can easily be formed, which if you think about it is just a selfish/self-centered form of Wrath. Also a more outward form of Wrath can easily be experienced as well.

For example: My friend just bought a new car...a car in which i have always liked but for whatever reason couldn't obtain. I become very Envious. I want it but at the same time i think, that if i can't have it he shouldn't either. Also, i see this person quite often which means i have to see that car quite often as well. And frankly it starts to p*ss me off. I have to see him with the car that i desire every so badly but can't have and it feels like he's smearing it in my face.

I could reach a breaking point and commit the ultimate act of Wrath....murder.

So as i was saying, in some odd way there is a cause and effect...the two sins can be linked. However i guess it also depends on the situation.

Don't know if that helped but it's something you can think about.

Sloth - Yup, I am definitely lazy sometimes when it comes to writing. I'll even have the perfect opportunity and still procrastinate sometimes. Greed - I'm greedy in my use of adverbs and prepositions. This is very bad. Too bad I couldn't be greedy in something useful huh? Envy - I don't really get envious of anything. When I see works better than mine (which happens on a daily basis haha) I just feel inspired to do better. Pride - I'm proud of my characters. Wrath - I get frustrated, which is the closest to angry I'll get when it comes to writing, when I'm trying to research something online and am just no getting the results I'm looking for that will fit into my story. Gluttony - Too much conversation and not enough details. My characters talk too much I think. Lust - Um. Yeah I really don't know how this is relatable to writing. I don't even have holding hands scenes in my story never mind lust. I have a habit of being anti romance sometimes. Some bonus questions now, in case my dribble did not make sense, which is probably won't??: BQ - In real life, which seven deadly sin are you most guilty of possessing? I don't think I have any of them. I suppose greed? I don't think I'm greedy, but I do have a lot. BQ2 - What does your screen name or real name say backwards? Lezah

Gluttony- food is good

but when we are stuffing ourselves especially on thanksgiving we aren't worrying about the little kids in foreign countries that have stomach diseases. :(

Lust - people prositute, diseases spread.

you could use statistics like every 30 seconds someone gets genital herpes.

more than 20% of pregnant women in the u.s. have genital herpes.

greed- so many rich people in the world, yet so many poor people, why can't all countries be like the third world countries? where everyone earns the same amount of money depending on the labor they do. money makes society evil. most people's problems today are because of money, even money gets in the way of couples and families.

have you seen the movie SEVEN? (with brad pitt and morgan freeman)

damn the killer was crazy basing his murders on the sins.

Either wrath or lust, because those are my favorites.

Lust would be the easiest to write about.

I would write about greed. Always wanting more leads to massive amounts of problems. Have you ever seen the movie.... Seven....(Se7en)? You should if you haven't!
