If someone put a missing person/pet poster up at a bus shelter or telegraph /lamppost outside of your home, would you take it down?

Could you be so heartless to take it down? BQ: did you know it's illegal to put up missing posters? Imagine if you live on a farm with no shops for an hour's drive. The missing posters will be useless.
