Is Obama going to take a salary cut like he is demanding CEO's do?

President Obama gets to enjoy all sorts of goodies as the leader of the free world, such as a fat salary, a driver and a chef, a free house, and free transportation to just about anywhere. H is demanding that CEO's reign in their salaries, so why doesn't he take a pay cut? his salary comes straight out of our tax dollars, he has made millions on his books , not like he needs the money. He needs to put his money where his mouth is.

I imagine that the CEO's are figuring that the ship is sinking at this point so they might as well loot the cargo hold. The reality is that 1.8 Million probably wouldn't pay the retirement benefits even for just a month, they have tens of thousands of retired workers who all apparently have a pretty good pension. Of course that's no excuse for this behavior on behalf of the CEO's I mean how does a snack cake company go bankrupt in America? That's like a distillery going bankrupt in Ireland, the only way it's possible is poor management.

Well... let's see. Bush was making about $400,000 a year, so he has got to be making around that much. Which is WAY, way less than the CEOs of all of these failing companies make per year.



I guess he could take a pay cut, but in comparison to other salaries, I'd say $400k a year in pay is more than reasonable for the President of the United States.



And parties and chefs just come with the territory - they are already on the payroll and have been for many years. If there is a need to cut back on those things, then I think Bush and many previous presidents would have already needed to do that. Why should Obama when Bush didn't? We were already having economy problems when he was in office.

Well, in the first place, his salary is only $400,000 a year, as leader of the entire country! The CEO's he is talking to are making in the millions, with millions more in bonuses, and they only run one company. Their companies are also having to be bailed out, so one cannot justify their salaries as value for value.



Every president entertains both dignitaries and their own guests. Wanna go back and look at how many sides of beef Bush had flown in for his barbecues?



The truth is you are drinking the Republican Koolaid and would not recognize a good thing about Obama if it were engraved on your forehead. So keep nitpicking. That way you can ignore the good things that are happening because of him.

So you're asking Obama to fix the economy and solve all of America's problems, but then you turn around and say you want him to do everything for lesser pay? No thanks, the president's salary is just fine where it is, which is around 400,000, less than he made as a Lawyer, by the way. He makes money from expense accounts, which is similar to investing for us.



It's not even just about Obama deserving the money. I think even Bush deserved the 400,000 paycheck and expense accounts for everything he had to deal with. I'm not biased like that. You just can't realistically the leader of our nation, like it or not, to take a pay cut like that after having to deal with everybody's problems. How would you like having to fix 300,000 million people's money problems that were left there by a previous organization and then have to take a pay cut?
