POLL: Are you quiet?

Question

BQ: If yes, does it bother you that you're quiet or do you not care?
Is there a reason why you're quiet? (Very private person ect.)

If no, what do you think of quiet people?

It's really quiet here at my place, so I thought I'd ask a question on quietness...

I'm quiet because I'm more of an observer and listener and just naturally pretty reserved. I kind of wish I wasn't so quiet because I feel like I'm missing out on so many opportunities that I would be able to take part in if I weren't so shy. Being quiet also interferes with school because since I'm quiet I'm kind of a loner type, and a lot of my classes are centered around things like public speaking, group projects, etc. which are an introvert's worst nightmare! I'm just not the type of person who can be loud and extroverted I guess.

I am quiet when I feel uncomfortable around certain types of people. I am quiet if I do not feel so good about myself. Yes, I do care and would love to not be so quiet. Yes, there is a reason: bad childhood and having aspergers.



It depends on the type of quiet, whether I like it or not. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't ie meaning people.



I hate quiet in general though and need to have music on all the time!

Yes, I'm quiet. It used to bother me severely that I was this way, as it seemed like everyone was the polar opposite, but now I love it! It makes me unique. I'm quiet for many reasons. I am very private, yes, but I am also painfully shy, socially awkward, and have an issue relating to people. The last reason is due to the child abuse that I went through as a child. To cope, I just sort of stayed quiet.

Yes I'm pretty quiet. Not out of shyness, but I'm more introverted and used to keeping to myself. That and I'm terrible at socializing in general and usually can't hold a conversation to save my life. I'm very friendly to everyone, but more of the listener type.



It doesn't particularly bother me. Others usually tend to accept that I'm quiet after awhile and don't focus on me as much, but I'm perfectly content with it. I'm actually rather talkative when I'm alone though.

Yes and no it doesn't bother me. I've been quiet for 19 years on this good earth. i guess because I'm really shy and tend to keep to myself. I like to sit back and observe. Plus if i open my mouth I'm bound to say the wrong thing so i usually just decide to stay quiet about some things.

I've known to be quiet sometimes and then a little miss chatterbox. No it doesn't bother me that i can be quiet and no i don't mind oters being quiet. If it makes them happy then that'd ok. If we have to bond in some way, I soon start to think of topics that may isnterest them.

Yes. I have noticed that a LOT of people are not quiet, in fact, there are a LOT of people who talk way too much. One just can't seem to get them to stop. I really can't stand that. Quietness, like ignorance, is bliss.

Yes, I would say I'm pretty quiet but not around my family or close friends. It doesn't bother me that I'm quiet it's just how I naturally am around people I don't know very well. I guess I just don't have anything to say to them so I don't say anything. I'm not very good at thinking of things to talk about because I don't like small talk but don't want to talk to them about personal things.

Yeah. I like to keep to myself a lot, especially in school. I just prefer listening rather than speaking I guess. It used to bother me but now I don't care about it anymore because I realized that people don't really care about how I am. But I still can't hold a conversation without some random silences though.

I'm quiet, usually coz I don't want to the say the wrong thing. It doesn't really bother me though coz I'm used to it. I'd rather listen if someone has got something intersting, funny or intelligent to say. Also if you don't spend ages talking to people you tend to observe things about people that aren't originally apparent, and this can tell you more what kind of people you are surrounded by and then if they are worth getting to know. Try it. :)

I'm very loud at home but once i arrive at school i'm in awkward mode. I hate talking out loud, having to perform in lessons, do pe, eating at school. So i kind of have a split personality between loud and quiet :)
