Street names in a housing development?

There are a lot of new housing developments in my area, and I have noticed that many developers are choosing themes for the street names--horse racing (Secretariat Street, Bet-a-Buck Way, Millionaire Drive), Robin Hood (Sherwood Forest Road, Marion Lane, Nottingham Way), etc. A number of years ago when I was into that gothic soap Dark Shadows, I wanted a housing development with streets like Barnabas Road, Quentin Way, Collinwood Drive, etc.
If you were in charge of naming the streets in a new development, what theme would you choose, and what are some of the street names you would use?

I would name the streets after historical sites for example Lochness or Windermere is the largest natural lake in England and White cliffs of Dover, Mont Saint-Michel (English: Mount Saint Michael) is a rocky tidal island in Normandy, France. Knightsbridge which was originally a small hamlet or locality outside the City of London. Momarte in Paris Romantic sites and districts in Europe.

Another idea may be historical sites that are here in the USA like The Hotel Chelsea which is a well-known residence for bohemian artists, musicians, and writers in the neighbourhood of Chelsea in Manhattan, New York City The Dakota where John Lennon lived.

For the adventurous also there could be a group of streets named for famous Beach surfer wave spots around the world Wiamea Bay, North Shore, Pipeline, Sunset Beach, Jaws etc.

I wouldn't choose a theme like that. That's silly. The houses here are just big. That's the theme. The neighborhoods just have names like "The Fairways, Kings Ridge, Kings Place, Royal Court, Hilton Crest, Rembrandt Heights, etc."

All of them near me have names of former Presidents

Alexander Hamilton

Woodrow Wilson

Thomas Jefferson

Grover Cleveland

Andrew Jackson

etc..............

EDIT>>> One freaky place I know of, is an entire mountain that was clear cut, condos & "townhomes" were constructed across several hundred acres. The entire place is so large, they had to construct two schools and a post office to take care of this monstrosity. http://www.patriothill.org/outside_home.asp
