Everytime I go to Jewel (Albertsons) now I have to check my receipt....I am always getting overcharged a little here and a little there-last time is was a $ 51. total, but they had over charged me by $9. Thats a big percentage...and everytime I go to customer service there and 5-10 others in line for the same reason....In todays economy I think they found a new way to make money-Please check your receipts, as you shop try to recall what was on sale, and watch as they scan items-the cashiers are getting paid no matter how long it takes to check out, or use the self checkout, and do not hesitate to return items you are dissatisfied with, if we as consumers must pay more for food, it had better be good! By the way I have a new rule in these trying times-if an item you usually enjoy is NEVER on sale, don't buy it, hopefully the companies and stores will get the message, also contact the company and ask for coupons and explain you regret taht the item is overpriced but you may consider another companies products instead-the more complaints they get the more likely they are to bring down the regular price-ovaltine for example is $5...thats crazy-for a drink mix....and its never on sale-Thanks for your replies about checking receipts.....happy shopping!

i work in customer service at a grocery store & i can not begin to tell you how many people come back because they were overcharged . my best advice would be to actually check your receipt . one person said that it would be better to just look at the monitor while your groceries are being rung up, but most of the time people are still placing the groceries on the belt or helping to bag, etc ..

Not the way I would have done it. Better ways to cook the books. The store is audited on an regular basis by the state, and if a certain percentage of prices are wrong you receive heavy fines. Not to mention corp. will can you behind for not managing your store well. But you are the final guarantee that you are charged as marked.

Even better I try to watch while they're ringing me up. Saves me time standing in line at customer service.

You need to find out who to report that to. It's against the law to do that ...
