cause they'd kill more trees.

no trees= no air.

no air= no lives.

no lives= not being able to spend $$$.

That would be like having 10 eggs, but telling 15 friends that they could each have 1 egg. On the outside, it looks like theres enough, but in reality there isn't. They did it in Germany after WWI and people ended up burning money because the paper it was printed on was worth more than the actual amount printed on it. In 1923, it would have cost 10 billion mark to buy 1 US dollar. No, that is not a type-o. Printing more money does nothing but decrease how much the money is worth.

Oh and the person who said we have gold to back up the amount of money the government has... that's wrong. We US went off the gold standard in the 60's along with the rest of the world.

There has to be a proper amount of gold in the National Bank to equal the amount of printed money. If we just keep printing paper the value of a dollar would go down and it would ruin our economy even further. So we'd probably spiral into a depression and not be able to afford to even get help from another country.

There more there is of something, the faster it becomes obsolete.

The international value of the U.S. dollar would drop. Even if our own people have to exchange pavement from under their nails, for money, the treasury and mint won't let that happen. Either way, if they do print more money, the price of everything (inflation) would go up. That's why people invest in stocks and bonds instead of saving their paper money in a bank. Actually the best place to save your money, is in your home.

No offense but you must know nothing about the economy... You can't just print money, because money really has no value. For every set amount of cash, our government has gold stock piled... the cash's value is really based around gold.

because the value of a dollar would go down even more. you have to have a good economy to back up a strong value of a dollar

The value of the dollar would go down and we would face a bigger crisis.

Much like the Germans did during the early 1900's.

It will lose its value and you will have to go to the store with a wheelbarrow of worthless paper currency that is worth hardly anything to buy a loaf of bread!

Thats basically what the bankers and money lenders do - they pull money out of thin air, print it and issue it as a note of credit. Governments borrow this imaginary currency and issue it to the people who then magically owe "billions and billions of dollars.

it has to have value, like gold or something. if it doesn't have an equal value to something then it is just a worthless piece of paper.
