There was a very popular actor in the late forties and early fifties. Very few today remember him, but my mother was totally in lust with the guy so I got stuck with his name. It's one of those names that when anyone meets you, the first thing they say is "Oh I know a girl named _______" Why couldn't she have had the hots for Reagan or Tracy or Ladd? Anybody with a definite guy's name!

It's close to my mom's name Angela and mines is Andrea

My grandfather was the editor of a popular nationwide newspaper here in Pakistan. He knew many different languages and had travelled to all parts of the world

Once in Turkey or Syria i think he heard the name of a 2nd century Persian leader. he decided to name me after him.
