Do you actually call your pets by their name?

Most people with dogs probably do. But I have a cat named Carrot (go ahead and laugh, everyone laughs at his name.) And I can't think of a time when I actually called him by his name.

I usually just call him Kitty, and he comes.

No, I have zillions of nicknames for all of my pets, I hardly ever call them by their real names. I call them by a nickname or I come up with a new one.

That is how i changed my first cats name. She was originally Storm, for like a day. I changed it cuz the only thing she responded too was Kitty, Kitty. So, i called her Miss Kitty. I no longer have her, as she had to be put to sleep due to health issues, but she was a good cat. The other one i do most of the time, but sometimes Dummy comes out alot.

I trained them to be interested in coming to me when I rubbed my thumb up against my fingers. I did so by doing that before giving them a treat, or loving on them. They would come running from anywhere in the house, and I didn't have to worry about waking anyone ;)

I have a dog named Snoopy and a bunny named Bun Bun. I call them by their names most of the time. However I do have little nicknames for them like I call my dog a little turkey sometimes.

Hardly ever...My cat's names are PT, Eastwick and Baby Kurt...We call PT, hooney, or purrty T or Peter Cruz, Eastwick is called Mystical Mist or Magical Mist or Mysterious, Baby Kurt is called Captain Crunch, or Curtis Payne....

I call my dog Maxx by his name, but I call my chihuahua Peanut by his name plus a whole bunch of other things, usually Mr. P, P, puppy-stuff,baby dog, monkey-mouse, Juan Montego (lol), and just puppy. Usually Mr. P or P...the rest of the family just calls him P.

Kody and Critter. Kody is my gorgeous pup <-- pictured on the right. I always call him by his name. Critter is my beauty of a black magic cat. She listens well to her name. It's actually probably because she loves people so much and comes running to any voice.
