Any Book Suggestions?

Hi! I am preparing for a 3 week vacation to the Philippines. My plane trip will be 16-18 hours(sorry I'm not exact on the time), and will be stopping in Japan before a second flight to Manila.

Do you have any book suggestions for me to read on the plane and while waiting at the airport?

All genres excluding chick books and teen dramas are fine. I've already read the popular series' like Harry Potter, Twilight(which got redundant after a while), Nancy Drew, Mitch Albom books etc.

Feel free to suggest as many books as you like. Just add the genre and the author along with the suggestion please.

Also, the thicker the book the better! (I've been cursed with reading fast)

Thanks for everyone's help.

I have been reading a lot of historical fiction lately. I loved these book:

The Twentieth Wife by Indu Sundaresan

Beneath a Marble Sky by John Shors

I dont know how old you are, but if you can handle mature content, these are good too:

Kleopatra by Karen Essex

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

And you can never go wrong with classics like To Kill a Mockingbird or 1984

You should also look at the website Goodreads.com for suggestions

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. The first book is "The Gunslinger." It's a fantasy/western that's unlike anything I've ever read. Forces you to think. I'm a fan of Harry Potter, but this is on a bit of a higher intellectual level.

The Olympians. It's a pretty awesome series. Greek Mythology, humor, adventure things like that. I'm up to the last book, The last Olympian and out of the other four I have read, it is pretty exciting with the plot and stuff.

Now for thicker, I suggest lord of the rings and the hobbit (which are excellent books).

Google Fmylife book. Its wonderful! Its not a story book with chapters, its about people's lives being funny and ironic and kinda sad lol. Its got about 3000 short stories, that should keep you busy, and might make you laugh. ^^ You can buy it at Barnes and Noble! :D You should probably get 2 more books cause this book is fast to read.

Have fun ^^

If you like mystery/thriller/suspense type, go for Kathy Reichs. Her books are awesome. If you know the tv show Bones, that show is based off her books.

Or if you want something a little off the hook and strange, try V.C. Andrews. Her stories are always screwed up!

I've been cursed with reading fast too.

know you mentioned no vampire books...yet i think of Twilight is large! it particularly is a physically powerful e book and it particularly is in a human beings attitude, no longer a vampires! it is likewise a action picture. there is: Twilight; New Moon; Eclipse; and Breaking break of day... although Breaking break of day isn't out in the cinema's yet... If no longer Twilight, then how approximately some Jaqueline Wilson books? they're superb!!! and quite humorous. wish I helped(:

I know it's sorta a "chick series," but ask your mom to buy you all of the Gossip Girl books. They're not THAT "chicky."

What I'm saying is, they aren't like Twilight or anything...
