Who all loves Dark Shadows ? Which series was the best 1960's or 1990's ?

My wife went to see the Dark Shadows movie twice and she loved it. She doesn't like Johnny Depo that well but she grew up watching Dark Shadows ( the 1990's series ). She's in love with the vampire she has a crush on him. But she cries whenever he kisses a girl on the show. We have the 90's series on our DVR it was on Momerial Day weekend so she recorded it and has been watching it ever since. I like the 60's series better. She watches episodes from the 1960's series on YouTube and she is obsessed with it. She knows all the characters and knows just about every line in it she even wants to be Barnabas Collins for Halloween this year. She likes the 90's series best because she thinks he's cutier in that one. Which series do you think is better ?

I loved the 1960's series. Used to rush home from school everyday to watch it with my weird friend, Geraldine. The 1990's series didn't seem to hold the same attraction for me, but maybe that's because I was older.



I didn't care for the movie. It was a good showcase for Johnny Depp, but it didn't seem to have any connection (other than the names) with the original characters, or even with the atmosphere of the old series.

OMG! The only Dark Shadows series I knew of was the old late 60`s and early 70`s one back in the day when I watched TV. Had no idea there was a 1990`s version, let alone a movie.



Barnabas and the hand of Count Ptoffey (sp?). Oh ... and that gypsy lady ... time warp. Sat my rear-end infront of the old B&W tube many afternoons after school ... back in the day when only 2 TV channels were offered.



Am I dating myself again? WTH ... nobody else will.

I like the 1960s Dark Shadows. It is the original series.

I have only watched the movie with Johnny Depp. I haven't watched the shows but would love to watch the ones from the 60's since they are the original.
