why does it mean something to you? (i have a project and im looking for ideas)

The first thing that came to my head was Swans by Islands.

My interpretation is that it's about a man who survived some freak accident and was stranded on an island. When he came to he had thought he died and had heard swans singing their songs. Something about swans only sing right before they die. He then went in search for his love he had lost along the way. It's like this epic song that can visually paint the scene in my mind. The lyrics are the most creative i have yet to come across.

oh technically its called swans (life after death). favorite part of it is this : I climbed into the blowhole

I love the whole joint. The guitar riff is just wonderful to my ears. I love the lyrics also here are the lyrics I love the most from the song.

This part of the joint would make for a great send off and good and it is upbeat and positive. That is why I want to played at my funeral.

What does it mean to me? I'm not sure if it "means" anything. Sometimes I hum it in stressful situations to remind myself, "Hey dude. Life is hard, and things get worse than what you've got now." I enjoy the seriousness and sublimity of the song. It has a melody and chord progression that never get old to me. I'm not the sort of person who looks to music lyrics to find meaning in life.

VIVA LA VIDA by Coldplay... i love the strings in the song...the song is about someone who used to rule the world-had EVERYTHING... but lost it all, and knows that he's going 2 pay for it in the afterlife. The song is supposedly about the French Revolution, but i interpret it as my own meaning... i had someone very dear to me, and i lost her...and i miss her more than anything in the world. When i listen to this song, it feels like theres hope for me to be happy again sometime. :)
