Should I leave a forum if I am truly addicted to it?

I am addicted to a forum. Its a great forum where I have come across some fantastic people. It's fun, and I have learnt a lot about myself in there.

I am very addicted to this forum... I have started neglecting my responsibilities, and I have been sleeping less as I spend way too much time on there.
I refresh the page over and over again hoping to see new posts.

I recognise I am addicted to the forum, and I know it is unhealthy as it has started to affect my daily life.

Should I leave? I feel like I have to as it is the only way I will get over this addiction and return to normal life, but on the other hand it will be a shame to let go of that place and the people on there.

What should I do?

If you're talking about yahoo answers I'd say "it's no ones business how you spend your free time, do what makes you happy" but if you're neglecting daily tasks and a social life for this then that isn't healthy and the best thing to do is to quit cold turkey.

Maybe you should stop visiting the site for a while. Even if you want to, just don't enter. After 2 weeks you'll see that forum as any other web site... and your willpower will be over 9000 :)

Yeah you need to delete ur account. Maybe get a job or something where you can socialize with people outside of the internet. Responsibilities always come first

Yes, I think that that is a good idea. If it is taking over your life it is only right to leave and come back if you don't have a lot on your plate.
