What would you say are the Top 5 most overrated classic rock bands of all time? Why?

Here's my list:

1) Bon Jovi - Other than singing songs about cowboys and living on prayers, they get more attention than they deserve.

2) Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine, Paradise City, November Rain, and that's all they have coming from them (Welcome to the Jungle is ridiculously overplayed)

3) The Beatles - Please don't hate me. While they have one of the biggest followings in the world, they mixed music from Buddy Holly and Elvis and added a little pop to it to become famous. Not saying they're bad (I think they're a fantastic band), but other bands deserve more praise than they do.

4) Metallica - Ask someone about Metallica, and they'll just think "Enter Sandman". Really, they're not missing out on any other songs. They're alright, but def not great.

5) Aerosmith - Seriously? Other than "Dream On", "Don't Want to Miss a Thing", "Dude Looks Like a Lady", "Walk This Way", and "Sweet Emotion", they're decent at best.

But that's my list. What's yours?

LOL, Beatles aren't overrated.



Some of their songs are underrated. I doubt many people have heard of 'Misery', 'Anna', or any of their non-top hits songs.



As for overrated rock bands go...



1.) Journey.- 'nuff said.



2.) Metallica- I just hate those kids playing guitar and doing 'Enter Sandman' or the intro to 'One' thinking they're all that.



3.) Jimi Hendrix- 'OMG HE'S LIEEK GODD, I WANT TO HAVE HIS BABIES!!!'



4.) Aerosmith- they're just overrated, it's not even funny.



5.) Guns N' Roses- They are overrated as hell, you see little kids running around saying that they're the best band ever and that Slash is the best guitarist ever. Bullshit.

My list isn't classic rock and I can't limit it to just five (hope that's OK). Here are my bottom 7:



1) KISS - "I wanna rock and roll all night" has been so overplayed that it's as annoying as George Thorogood's "Bad to the bone." The only good song KISS did was "Detroit Rock City." Most of their records are lame 4/4 time with no interesting fills. Their stage presence sucks, too. The only reason people go to see KISS is because they're amazed by Gene Simmons' tongue length. That's it.



2) Styx - High-pitched caterwauling might have been great in the 70's, but it's nails on a chalkboard today.



3) Monster Magnet - These guys sound like a group of individuals who met up at their 25-year high school reunion and decided to get their high school band back together to prove that they can, in fact, still rock. Lame lyrics, lame drumming, lame guitar work, and lame stereotypical black clothes, long hair, and sunglasses.



4) Metallica - Used to be one of my favorite groups. They should have stopped after the Black album. Everything since then has been ****. James Hetfield sounds like an alley cat that's being sodomized.



5) Nickelback - Godsmack wannabes. Nickelback is the group that girls listen to when they think they're playing music that'll piss-off daddy. It's the only reason they even have a female fanbase. Nickelback is as interesting and edgy as a christian rock band.



6) Buck Cherry - Cheesy, unoriginal name. Their sound is a regurgitated amalgam of everything karaoke.



7) Good Charlotte - These guys come out on stage looking like a legit rock group, but then spew out a bubble-gum pop sound that makes P. Diddy sound like Tupac.
