my boyfriend told me that there's a guy rule where a man is not supposed to date his friends ex without the friends permission.

its only gay if you make eye contact, or kiss.
EXAMPLE.
i was banging your dad in the @ss last night, he looked me in the eyes, and tried to kiss me, i freaked out and simply asked him if he was gay.
thats only gay because of the eye contact and the kiss.

That's not really a guy rule, it's more of a good friend rule. I wouldn't date my friend's ex-boyfriend either if she were uncomfortable with it. In fact, he would pretty much have to be my soulmate for me to want to date a friend's ex. That's treading into some dangerous waters and should not be taken lightly.
