usually I'm paying all the attention to the movie but once in a great while a song playing in the movie will catch my attention

nope I don't have a bunch of soundtracks, so far I just have one, the soundtrack from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You...I was even disappointed with that soundtrack because it didn't have ALL the songs I heard in the movie because almost everyone one of them caught my attention

Since I'm a big fan of the show Charmed though I love the music they play on the show so I've been looking for the soundtrack to that, if there is one, because I don't know the name of all the artists they play during the show(I'm not talking about only the bands they have that play at P3, I also like some of the music that is played in the beginning when the credits are showing, after the theme song has already played)

I don't purposely pay attention to movie music. But sometimes if the music is really great it just naturally gets my attention. My favorite movie composer is Ennio Morricone. George Gershwin was also a great composer. He didn't compose especially for movies, but there are two great movies with Gershwin's music: Rhapsody in Blue(1945) and An American in Paris(1951). Oscar Levant was an excellent pianist and a close friend of George Gershwin and he(Levant) plays himself in Gershwin's Biography "Rhapsody in Blue." Levant also plays piano in "An American in Paris. Some of the Soundtracks that I own are: Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris, The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur, A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, My Name is Nobody, A Fistful of Dynamite, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Amadeus, Rain Man, Shine, The Apostle, The Pianist.

I love the music in the movies! It makes a world of a difference as to express moods & emotions.I'm not necessarily talking about the new trend to make songs by popular artist for a movie, but the classical music in the background of the movie itself. Being a sci-fi fan , I can tell you I love John Williams (Star Wars).I don't necessarily go as far as remembering the composers everytime I like their music, but I do think that without it, the movie would lack flavor in lots of ways. It is the emotional backbone of it all.

1) Absolutely. The right music MAKES OR BREAKS a movie for me.

2) Westside Story. Beaches. Dreangirls. Crooklyn. Cooley High. Purple Rain. many more.

3) Rogers and Hammerstein. ...too many more to name.

4) Many. At least 25. Probably more.

This is probably one of the best questions I've seen asked here.

Only when the story revolves around it. I like movies like Ray, Moulin Rouge, and O Brother where art Thou because you can kind of watch the movie without actually watching it. I don't pay much attention to the soundtracks unless i hear them isolated first like Schindlers List or Star Wars.

Yes, I seem to like and want to buy scores from movies that remind me of the 'younger' fun days of my life. I feel that with every movie I see, I tell my self to remember to buy the CD. I own a few movies scores. Mostly, I leave the movie and forget to buy it.

I own 'As Good As it Gets", "Love Actually", "School of Rock", 'Oh Brother Where art Thou" and a few more, but I cannot remember the titles and I am not at home to look at them....

My favorite movie is 'Back to the Future". I did not buy the sound track but I do like Huey Lewis more.
