Question:
The Rockford Files or Magnum PI?

Which show was better

The Rockford Files (1974-1980) with 124 episodes and 8 TV films ( 1994-1999)

Magnum PI (1980-1988)

Both were Private Investigators, rather than police like Kojak and Columbo

I may be wrong but wasn't Rockford formally a detective before he was a private investigator, one of his friends is a detective.

I think Magnum Pi replaced The Rockford Files as Rockford ended the same year Magnum started, though it was mainly because James Garner kept hurting himself as he did all stunts himself.

Magnum PI. I never watched the Rockford File. I liked James Garner in his western roles and didn't want to see him otherwise. Felt that way about Clint Eastwood for a time too

I preferred the Rockford Files because it was less corny than Magnum PI. The big attraction was Tom Selleck because the girls loved him.

The Rockford Files. I liked his 1974 Firebird 400. Magnum PI had a 308 Ferrari that was pretty nice also. But Jim Rockford's Pontiac 400 was the bomb.

Magnum PI, but then I've always had a thing for Tom Selleck

Whatever you think won't make one show better than the other, Sophie. Keep watching your bipolar actors and actresses movies

Magnum PI had the hotter chicks, and better scenery.
