4. I like to be entertained by the mayhem/release of emotion, but I don't think any scary movie has ever really frightened me. Maybe afterward walking through a dark alley at night, or in the house, not turning out the lights for awhile as the images from the movie linger.

6. I think it's because in your mind you get to be the villain and the hero. As you watch the villain you get to see him/her act out revenge fantasies you think you might like to engage in (though you never really would) against people you perceive have wronged you/or just everybody for all the countless unconsidered slights of the world. As you watch the hero you get to see him/her defeat the dark side of human nature, and walk away from the terror in the end.
