I see stuff like this all the time on facebook where it says some sad story about someone dying and the people that when you re post it, they will donate money to help the person or whatever it us. For example, I just saw this:

A 14 Year Old Boy Was Shot 6 Times By His Stepfather , This Boy Was Protecting His Little 2 Year Old Sister Who Was About To Be Raped By This Poor Excuse Of A Man , The Little Girl Did Not Get Hurt Thanks To Her Brave Older Brother , Their Mom Was At Work When All This Happned Now This Brave YOUNG Man Is Fighting For His LIFE , But Doctors Say He Will Not Survive Unless He Gets An Operation Which Is Very Costly & Which His Mom Can't Pay . ALL FACEBOOK Companies Have Agreed To Donate 45 Cents For Every time Someone Post This To Their Wall , So Please Paste & Pass This On So That Together We Can Help Save This Boys Life .. I Passed This Message Down & So Should YOU.

they don't really donate 45 cents right? Because they can't tell when everyone re posts this... it has to be fake?

Why every company will pay him 45 cents to re-post that? Doesn't make any sense at all.

Fake and stupid way to get publicity.

Not true - I googled this message to see where, when etc this had happened and this is what I got - Feb 2010. Outline

Message claims that, every time a text or social media message is sent on, AT&T, Verizon or Facebook will donate money to help pay for surgery on a 14 year old boy who was shot six times by his stepfather while attempting to protect his young sister.

Brief Analysis

This message is a hoax and should not be forwarded. Sending on this message will help no one. Any message that claims that a company will donate money to help a sick or injured child each time a text message, email, or social media message is forwarded or reposted is sure to be a hoax.

That's so stupid. I'm pretty sure if he got shot 6 times, he'd be dead by now. And why wouldn't the "poor excuse of a man" not try to hide the body? Besides, I highly doubt that'd stop him from hurting the sister. Stupid posts are stupid.
