Why is there a tunnel system under my school?

A couple weeks ago, me and a couple friends were walking through these woods near our school and found a hole leading down to a tunnel. We left because we got scared but one of my friends (really crazy, fearless. I think he's pretty brave actually, any guy who can go into a tunnel that can colapse any second is so brave and attractive to me). He came back and went into the tunnel. He took a flashlight and a video camera and showed us the video of him walking through the tunnel (which looked very similar to those drug tunnels you hear about on the Mexican border). The tunnel was big enough that he could stand up (and he's 6 feet tall). He went through the tunnel (which turned out to be 700 feet long, exactly the distance from where the hole was dug to the center of our school. At the end of the tunnel there is a room full of boxes. We opened a box and found a bunch of pipes filled with this black powder and a thread sticking out of it. What is the stuff in the pipes and who build the tunnel?

Check in the property files of your town.Sounds like this may have been a tunnel dug during the civil war,The pipes sound like they are some kind of bomb.I would contact the police About the pipes and show them where they are at.
