By stereotype, I mean your stereotype(nerd, prep, jock) in school.
Do you think if you hang out with a certain group(nerd, prep, jock) than people stereotype you as one of them(a nerd, a jock, a prep)?

Yes. I have experienced this myself. When I was a bit younger, I was quiet and shy. I just hung out with whoever talked to me, and I happened to fall into the skank group. I didn't dress or act like them at all, but because I hung out with them, I was always called a whore or a slut by people who didn't know me, just because I hung out with them.

Yes. You can tell a lot about a man (or a woman!) by the company he (or she) keeps.

Stereotypes tap into kernels of truth; they are not precise reflections that allow for nuances of difference, but they do provide us with a key framework.

I myself do not think that stereotypes determine one's personality. However, being a high school student I am sad to say that many students, even some teachers see it that way.

yes, but I used to hang out with band geeks and cheerleaders, art freaks and football players. I don't think though that "cliques" really mattered much in my high school.

Yeah, but stereotypes are stupid and if you honestly care about which one you fall under, that's ridiculous.
