I don't think anybody likes war, but it is a necessary evil. If you think about it, all war seems to be a means to bring about peace. It is almost cyclical.

War is a great cleansing act. It rids us of some of the excess population. WE need more of it.

War is a catharsis. You can get out your frustrations, your secret passions. It's an opportunity to pillage, murder, and rape. Vandalism is just icing on the cake.

War is an act of homage to Mars, Thor, Odin, Loki, and Satan, not to mention Jehovah of the O.T.

War is horrible, evil, not something to go into without your eyes wide open. War is not for the weak of heart, nor the spineless.

Americans are on the whole not ready for war. They are betraying their troops in the field. Without unity, we shall fail. America is waiting to pay for the sins of the past, for slavery, for what it did to the Native Americans, the Mexicans, its own working class. America is on the way faster to the fate of the old Roman Empire. Britain is not far behind.

War is good for a few people, bad for most. A few will profit from it, and most will suffer to the nth generation.

We, as human beings, are happy to boast of how we are the most intelligent beings on earth. Yet, after countless wars, and the resultant deaths of billions of people, we still haven't learnt to live in peace with each other.

To suggest for one moment, that war is a means of attaining peace, proves just how 'unintelligent' we really are!

Nobody "likes" war, but it is an inherent element of civilization when there are tyrants who deprive other people of basic human freedoms and liberties.

Some people seem to think that W invented it, but it has existed since the dawn of time.

Peace is not the absence of war, but the result of it. i.e., there is no peace until the righteous rise up and defeat tyranny. If Saddam were still in power and continued, to this day, to kill thousands of his people monthly, would that be peace? If Saddam continued to fund, host, train, and encourage Islamic Fascists to murder innocent peace-seeking people of the Western civilizations, would that be peace?

Hardly.

I think that if people tried hard enough they would find an easier and more peaceful way to settle disagreements other then fighting. Personally I don't believe in war and fighting. I think it is a poor excuse for bad communication.
But why is the rum always gone?

War is to be avoided at nearly any cost, and they are only started or joined by national leaders that are either afraid or greedy. Fear can be a good enough reason, if it is a fear for one's life and national identity, but usaully there is another way. We just aren't always smart enough to see until decades later.

I hate war. No one wins in war, each side loses too many lives, especially innocent ones. Sometimes at the end it wasn't about anything that important & nothing is resolved.

but how is "tyrant" defined? isn't it a matter of geography and perspective?

[I]n such a world of conflict, a world of victims and executioners, it is the job of thinking people, not to be on the side of the executioners.

--Albert Camus

When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?

--Eleanor Roosevelt

I know war as few other men now living know it, and nothing to me is more revolting. I have long advocated its complete abolition, as its very destructiveness on both friend and foe has rendered it useless as a method of settling international disputes.

War is sad. War will always happen as long as there are people who strongly believe in things different that people who strongly believe in things that oppose their beliefs.

DON'T LIKE IT

DON'T WANT IT

DON'T NEED IT

JUST A HUGE PISSING CONTEST BETWEEN COUNTRIES AND UNFORTUNATELY INNOCENT PEOPLE DIE.INCLUDING OUR SONS WHO ARE SOLDIERS AND BELIEVE THEY ARE SERVING OUR COUNTRY.THEY DON'T KNOW THAT THEY ARE JUST LITTLE PAWNS ON A BIG CHESS BOARD AND IF WAR IS A NECESSARY EVIL THEN TELL BUSH TO SEND HIS TWINS OVER THERE .THEY ARE OLD ENOUGH.I BET WAR WOULD END REAL SOON IF THE DRAFT CAME BACK AND SUDDENLY GIRLS WERE DRAFTED.

War in general? Send the politicians to fight it if they are so passionate about it, since they start them, let them finish the job.
