Do you think strippers contribute to society?

In a question on here about your daughter being a stripper a person said that strippers don't contribute to society. I have to say that I respectfully disagree.

I also think that somebodies daughter has to be a stripper or else we wouldn't have any.

What's your thought on strippers? LOVE OR HATE THEM!

Of course the contribute to society. They work, pay taxes, buy groceries, pay rent or house payments, have transportation needs, buy a lot of personal care products, clothes/costumes, and have a large disposable income. They add more to the economy than alot of other people do.

Strippers are just people, like everyone else is.

I am not a stripper, have never been a stripper and hope to God I never have to be a stripper, but I have known a few in my life.

Most are single Mothers trying to make a decent living for their family. It is unfortunate that they have to resort to stripping to do so, but I don't judge ANYONE for trying to make a decent living.

The stripper (male or female) is there to make money.

It isn't the strippers fault if a patron spends his families grocery money on their dances...

Strippers get a bad rep because so many people don't want to own-up-to their own actions.

It's easier for a woman to be mad at a stripper than to be mad at her husband for HIM SPENDING their money.

If a husband can't control his spending when he walks into an establishment that is HIS problem, not the establishments, no matter what kind of place it is.

And, sure they contribute to society.

I'm sort of a prostitute so I probably couldn't give you a really unbiased answer.



BUT they way I see it is: There's demand for it. A lot of demand. A product doesn't sell if people don't want it, and this one in particular emerged precisely from people's demands. I think strippers are just like normal people, so if they pay taxes they contribute to society. They are also an indicator that we are more open about things nowadays. It's unhealthy to live in extremely conservative cultures like Iraq where a woman can get stoned to dead simply for walking alone down the street and therefore being 'indecent'.



Plus they're hot, so how could I not love them. =P

I wish there were more clubs with guy strippers though.

Yes, I believe they contribute. There is certainly fantasy entertainment value, as well as the aspect that challenges society's more backward mores. I've dated a stripper, and she was very sweet and loving; our breakup had nothing to do with her profession, and I'd do it again. I also have a couple of friends who are or were strippers. Now, through them I do know of some who definitely have issues, but to me, that's more an indictment of the way society treats them rather than their own fault.

I don't know that they really contribute to society, but I would say that if women would take better care of their husbands they wouldn't go to strip clubs. I don't know that I really hate or love strippers. I have an ex sis-in-law who is a stripper. She's nice and pretty normal.

I love them! I have such a blast every time I go to the club! The majority of these girls are not whores or prostitutes. They are just trying to support themselves, and for most it is a temporary job. Some of them are Law students, some are Medical students, some are trying to buy a home, and yes some are skanks. Same as anywhere else (work, colleges, malls, your own group of friends/acquaintances)! I've had an opportunity to sit down and really talk to some, and they are normal girls! They are disgusted by a lot of the men they have to dance for, and they hate dancing and putting on a show for married men. It's all work for them, they aren't actually turned on! They are just trying to make a living. Some are doing it so they can feed their kids without welfare and food stamps. They pay taxes just like the rest of us, and most lead a normal lifestyle just like the rest of us! So, I think they contribute to society just as much as you or I do.

I believe it is immoral, but apart from that. They make money then spend it, thus contributing to the economy, and they entertain people. Without entertainment wouldn't the world be a worse place. Plus they bring millions of revenue through the sale of alcohol, which wouldn't be sold if they weren't there to attract customers

they are normal girls in hard times...my friend was a stripper for 6 months and once she built up mega money, she quit and now owns a house...She was only a few that did not do drugs, A lot of strippers do it to help their drug habit, I do not agree with that but if they are doing it to get by, then I'm all for it!! By the way, they get paid off the books so they are really not contributing to society

Everyone has their own ideas about how to make a living and if you are a good one you can make quite a lucrative one being a stripper. I imagine they do their share in raising the economy.

Absolutely not. The only thing strippers do is entertain guys who can't get girlfriends. they probably contribute to the crime and rape rates, too. However, if a girl is willing to manipulate her body for money, and a guy is willing to pay to watch, there will be a buisness going on.

i dont know how they contribute to society, i dont see them planting trees, picking up trash, helping out at homeless shelters. alot of them are strippers to buy drugs, because they cant get a job where they have to actually use their brain, and the money comes easy. easy come, easy go
