1. The routing number is like the banks identity code. Wells Fargo's is 321270742, Bank of America has their own, WaMu, and so on. Each bank has their own unique 9 digit number that appears on all your checks and deposit slips as like an identifier.

2. Yes you have to have a checking acct. to have a routing number. There isn't re4ally a need for you to have a routing number, without a checking acct.

3. Yes it's the same for every person who has an account at the bank. But it's not exclusive to the branch/ location of the bank, but the bank as a company as a whole. Like I said in Answer #1.

Hopw I've helped

PS The routing number is mainly used to identify what bank you are with when someone taked a chek or when they are seting up a direct deposit.

The routing number is the bank's number.

All accounts for that bank have the same routing number.

It is the means to track an account back to the financial institution.

The routing number is on the savings account as well.

1. It's the first set of numbers on a checking account, so I guess you have to have a checking account.

2. I don't know if everyone has the same routing number, but everyone has an individual account number, which follows the routing number.

It is the first 9 numbers on the bottom, left side of checks if you have a checking account and paper checks. The account number is the next set of numbers

1. On the bottom of your checks, you will see your account number on the right. The 10 numbers BEFORE your account number are the routing number.

2. Yes

3. I'm not sure.
