I am a 38-year-old woman and a regular customer of this guy who is in his twenties.Whenever I bump into him, which is quite often,I would give him an upward nod to acknowledge him.And in return he would look at me,raise both eyebrows and smile cutely at me at the same time before walking off.Do you think this is appropriate? Thanks.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.. he finds you attractive and am sure you find him attractive too

Well, if you keep on bumping into him and nod to acknowledge him, then he raises his eyebrows and smiles cutely I personally think that if you don't like him or feel awkward when he does it, just say politely "I'm glad that you are happy to see me, but I would feel more comfortable if you do not do that. And it is appropriate because all he is probably doing is showing that he likes you or that he thinks you are nice and wants to be friends

You're nodding at him, and he's acknowledging the nod. I don't see a problem. If you feel he's being disrespectful, or flirting, it's up to you to tell him how you want to be addressed. So next time you give him an "upward nod" whatever THAT is, and he smiles back, tell him "young man, I would prefer if you bowed in my direction to acknowledge my presence."

Really, doesn't this whole thing seem a bit ridiculous to you?

i think it's affectionate; he likes you the way you like a nice person
