what does work in progress mean?

I am just wonder what does it mean if you say I am a work in progress cause I put I am a work in progress on what I,m doing with my life on my okcupid profile was it OK if I put that on my profile

It means you're still in the middle of working on something. If it's something you're building, like a birdhouse, that means it's not finished and you're still building it. If you mean your life, it means you're not where you want to be in life, but you're getting there.
