What console should I get?

Ok, so I have never owned a console before, (I own a DS Lite if that counts, but I don't even use that....it's gathering dust somewhere...) The only time I get to play games is if I'm at a friends house, or a a relatives house, and I'm getting tired of driving to their places just for that... So I'm looking at the PS3 or xbox 360....and I was wondering which one has a bigger selection of games, and which one has a more bigger online community.....

Uhm...and Oh...I only has around $350 to spend...

360 has bigger online community, and thats its ONLY plus over PS3.





First of all, the PS3 is cheaper, it comes with a built in Wifi, while a Wifi for 360 is going to cost 100 dollars more. The controllers are rechargeble. The internet is free. It is more reliable, and if you buy a 360 Im pretty sure the next 360 will be out in the next couple of years. PLus a blu-ray, its a great deal.



The PS3 has better exclusives, all the 360 has is Halo Gears of War and Left For Dead

I would say get the xbox 360 just from experience. The games are more thrilling than PS3 but it also depends on what type of games you like to play. Even though the online is free for the PS3 xbox live has a bigger community like around 23 million members and yes you have to pay for it but it is worth the money your paying for.

Xbox 360 will get you the BIGGER community, but the ps3 will get you the BETTER online community easily. unfortunately since microsoft is throwing all there muscle behind the xbox 360, it seems to be getting its hands on more game titles, but the ps3 still at this moment has the best selection of exclusives.



So id say with both criteria, the ps3 is better.

-More hacks and mods to ruin the games online. (e.g. JTAG)

-Cheaper ($200)

-Online is FREE

-Blu-ray compatibility

-Rarely has failure (YLOD)

-Online is more secure from hacks

-$300

-Right now is the top-selling console



I'd go with the PS3, it's hardware is better, the games are generally better, and the online is really fun and growing.



Note: To those xbox fanboys if you didn't know, Bungie is no longer working with Microsoft, and they are releasing a game with Sony soon.

PlayStation 3 is more powerful and has better games. It's free to play online. Why would a company as rich as Microsoft ask you to pay to play online? I know they say it's worth it, but I would like to know the purpose BEHIND it. It wouldn't kill them to make it free.



It has built-in wi-fi too, and if you want wi-fi for Xbox 360 you need to pay $100. Their graphics are almost identical, and some of their games look better than each other, but you should definitely go with the PlayStation 3.

If you are looking for some good online multiplayer experience its the xbox but if you want a to play just for the hell of it get a ps3

get a Wii if you want to be a grandma





screw xbox online community....you would have to deal with red ring of death constantly....I sure wouldn't want that.
