4. The Ohio driver’s education manual states that you must honk the horn whenever you pass another car.

(So, is that why people are randomly honking at me when I drive?)

5. It is illegal for more than five women to live in a house.

(OK, now that one I sort of get...)

6. In Akron, posting signs at swimming pools is illegal.

7. In Akron, it is also illegal to display colored chickens for sale.

(...and what about white ones?)

Many of the so-called "crazy laws" are merely absurd interpretations of normal laws. For instance, if fishing is illegal on Sundays, then fishing for whales (which are not fish) is also illegal, as is fishing for dinosaurs.



Tigers are "inherently dangerous animals" and it's not "crazy" to require that their escape must be quickly reported.



Local ordinances are frequently enacted in small towns as a knee-jerk reaction to some specific problem. State laws generally endure more debate and consideration prior to enactment.



Seattle: Unlawful to transport manure through central business district on Sundays. As well it should be.

As someone who grew up near some of the places you describe, I would have to say that no cow has lived in Bay Village, Ohio for at least fifty years. Maybe more than that. lol. The reasons they had limits on women living in a house was to stop "bawdy houses"/bordellos from selling their services.
