Do you think high school dress codes should be banned?

Because a lot of students don't listen to them anyway. Notice every single day, somebody is purposely violating the dress code. I would go to school and see girls wearing booty shorts, spaghetti strap tops looking like rock-star hookers. And i would see guys go to school with saggy jeans and long t-shirts with chains.

Not a day goes by when you come to school and don't see students violating the dress code so why don't it just be banned it's a waste of time.

The fact that a few people disobey a rule is hardly a good justification for removing the rule all together.

Drunk driving is illegal, but lots of people do it anyways.

when i went to catholic high school in 1979. and had obey the dress code [tie. white dress shirt. sweater vest blazer with crest and wool slacks] it made me feel good!

but then,it was heck on earth. cant loosen your tie, cant unbutton your collar, shoes must always be shined. you must be neat and clean all the [expletive] time and it was such a hassle. i remember being sent home for muddy shoes! muddy shoes! when it was raining outside, how was i supposed to keep my shoes clean!

i think if your going to make student wear a uniform let them have some input on what it should look like. let them design it. and the design with the most votes gets approved!

No. And they should be enforced. A school is a place of business. You should dress respectfully and in such a way as not to distract others. You are there to get an education, not to look like a bum or trash.

No, I go to high school without dress codes and I wish we had them. I feel like in my school, the way you dress shows how much money you have, and people judge you on how you look.

No, maybe they should be more strictly enforced. Those students need something called discipline. Do they expect to be dressing like sIuts and ganstas when they get a job?
